Lin Ping smiled and patted Zheng Yanfei’s head. After leading her to a seat, she asked curiously,

"What brings you here today? Don’t you have classes?"

"I don’t have class this morning, so I thought I’d come see you, Auntie."

Zheng Yanfei asked carefully, testing the waters.

"Um... are you and Uncle still doing okay?"

"We’re divorced."

Lin Ping’s expression was calm and composed. Zheng Yanfei couldn’t help but let out a small sigh of relief, as if she had expected this all along. She said indignantly,

Lin Ping got up to make Zheng Yanfei a cup of coffee, then said softly,

"Here, try this."

Zheng Yanfei obediently picked up the cup and took a small sip. Her eyes immediately lit up.

"This is delicious! I think it’s even better than what you get at some coffee shops!"

"It’s probably because the beans are high quality. The taste of freshly ground coffee is definitely better."

Lin Ping gave a gentle smile. Zheng Yanfei’s approval eased the anxiety in her heart.

"What about you? How are your studies going?"

"Same as always."

"It was redone, yes."

"This shop and the one next to it originally belonged to your uncle. But the same person bought them both, knocked down the wall between them, and renovated the whole space. It’s scheduled for a soft opening this weekend."

"The same person? They must be loaded!"

Zheng Yanfei couldn’t help but exclaim.

"I’ve seen so many pet bloggers online promoting this Shennan Pet Society. I even heard the owner was the one who shot that short film that went viral recently."

"There are so many capable people in Modu. To think a Cat Cafe could be renovated so luxuriously... How much must that have cost?"

Lin Ping’s gaze shifted, a hint of guilt on her face.

"I volunteered for it."
