Chapter 466 - 381: Raylo’s Conquest of the "Little Guy" Territory
Chapter 466 - 381: Raylo’s Conquest of the "Little Guy" Territory
Then, Gordo took a ferocious stride forward, slamming his shoulder hard into Ug’s chest.
"THUD!"
With a boom like a Giant Hammer striking a muffled drum, Ug’s mountain-like body was sent flying. He tumbled through the air before crashing heavily to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust and smoke.
"OOH-RAH!"
The surrounding Giants let out a victorious cheer, while another portion sighed in disappointment.
Gordo raised his arms high, beat his solid chest, and let out a triumphant roar.
Ug, who had been thrown down, quickly scrambled up from the ground. He shook his dizzy head and glanced at a new mound of earth that had suddenly appeared on the ground.
He couldn’t figure out what had happened.
Seeing the duel was over, the spectating Giants began to disperse in twos and threes.
Raylo strode over.
"Kado."
Raylo called out.
Kado turned around. Seeing it was Raylo, a simple, honest smile immediately spread across his face.
"My Lord! You’re here!"
This guy, Kado, had forgotten again that he was supposed to call Raylo "Carlo" while he was in his Giant form.
Marlin, disguised as a Hill Giant, also walked over. He was much more careful and didn’t blurt things out like Kado.
Fortunately, no one else present seemed to mind.
Gordo, the recent victor, and Ug, who had just gotten back on his feet, also gathered around.
"Brother Carlo."
Gordo greeted him in a booming voice. His temperament was calmer than most Giants, but he was still happy to see Raylo.
Ug patted Raylo’s arm in welcome.
Then, his gaze was drawn to the small, furry creatures on Raylo’s shoulder.
He remembered Gordo saying that the little pets kept by this "Carlo" were anything but simple.
"Hey, Ug..."
Gordo noticed his friend’s line of sight. He grinned widely and pointed at the orange cat on Raylo’s shoulder, which had its paws neatly tucked in.
"Let me tell you, Brother Carlo’s little orange pet is no ordinary kitten. It can turn into a Giant Dragon!"
"A Giant Dragon?"
Ug’s eyes went wide, and he leaned in curiously.
Ug carefully examined the other little creatures and asked, "So, can the other colored ones also turn into Giant Dragons?"
Hearing this, Raylo couldn’t help but laugh to himself.
’This guy... he actually guessed it.’
Of course, he wasn’t about to admit it.
"They’re just some special little pets, that’s all."
Raylo laughed and skillfully changed the subject. He looked at Ug, his expression turning more serious as he spoke.
"Brother Ug, I’ve come this time because I’ve run into some trouble. I was hoping to ask your tribe for a favor."
Hiring a Hill Giant tribe was a decision Raylo had made after careful consideration.
The crisis in the Jade Swamp was imminent, and it would be a struggle to handle it with Black Stone Territory’s Power alone.
There were two reasons for choosing Ug’s tribe.
First, they had prior contact and something of a friendly relationship. Second, this tribe was located on the outskirts of the Giant City-State, making it relatively independent and less likely to attract the attention of the Giant high command. It was the perfect entry point.
"A favor?"
As soon as Ug heard this, he forgot all about the pets. He forcefully beat his sturdy chest, which produced a dull "thump-thump" sound.
"Brother Carlo, your business is my business! What’s the trouble? Just say the word!"
"This is something I should discuss with your father, Wuba Tribe Leader," Raylo said.
Ug nodded, agreeing that it was the proper thing to do.
He waved his hand casually and said,
"A small matter! Come on, I’ll take you to my father!"
With that, Ug led Raylo, Kado, and Marlin toward the largest stone house in the center of the tribe’s settlement.
The inside of the stone house was much more spacious than it appeared from the outside, but it was just as crude.
Thick Beast Hides were spread across the floor, and the walls were adorned with the skulls of various Giant Beasts and dried hides. The air was thick with a mixture of leather, smoke, and the distinct, strong scent of Giants.
A middle-aged Giant was sitting on a large boulder in the center of the stone house. This was the tribe’s leader, Wuba.
"Father, Brother Carlo is here! He says he has something he wants to ask our tribe for help with."
Ug boomed the moment he walked in.
Wuba had been napping. He sat up at the sound of Ug’s voice, his gaze falling upon Raylo.
"Ah, it’s Carlo and Kado!"
Wuba said with a smile.
"The sound of you all dueling outside was a racket all morning. I had just fallen asleep when you woke me up again."
In Wuba’s eyes as the tribe leader, between the two brothers, Carlo was unassuming. Kado, however, a young Domain Level Giant, possessed immense strength for his age. This made him someone worth befriending, which was why he had always been friendly to them.
Raylo met his gaze.
"Wuba Tribe Leader."
Raylo gave a slight nod.
Wuba cleared his throat.
"Carlo, speak. What is it?"
"I wish to hire your tribe’s warriors to help me resolve a crisis."
Hearing Raylo’s request, Wuba didn’t answer immediately, seemingly lost in thought.
Ug, standing to the side, grew anxious. He already considered Raylo and Kado to be friends he could fight alongside.
In his view, when a friend asked for help, coming to their aid was the only natural thing to do.
"Father! Brother Carlo is our friend! A friend’s business is our business!"
He urged Wuba.
Wuba shot his son a glare, and Ug immediately shrank back, not daring to say another word.
Even though he had already advanced to Domain Level and was the tribe’s strongest warrior, his father’s authority within the tribe was unmatched.
