Chapter 94: DROPLETS
Chapter 94: DROPLETS
Silas appeared before Lilura, his katana arcing downward towards her shoulder in a violent whistle that could deafen any normal person.
Lilura vanished.
The katana sliced through the bed beneath cleanly, like butter against a hot knife.
Silas’s eyes flicked through the room, finding Lilura who had appeared in a corner.
"Are you angry?" She asked, her voice melodic and sweet as it reverberated in his ear.
Silas said nothing. He tried to steady his breathing and calm his heart.
"Your heart is beating too fast," Rion reminded him.
Silas ignored the warning, his leg kicking against the tiles as he darted forward, sword held straight to pierce through Lilura’s throat.
The floor creaked, groaning under their combined weight before it gave way beneath them, erupting upward in shards of sharp tiles.
Lilura flashed a grin at Silas from behind her war axe.
Silas’s katana still rested against the axe’s flat.
Like they had agreed with thoughts alone, both sides flickered, their bodies dancing across the room in streaks that felt more deliberate than chaotic.
Tiles and walls were left devastated in their wake, exploding outward.
Silas swung in a wide arc at Lilura’s waist.
Lilura jumped over it, descending with her axe aimed at Silas.
He caught it with the edge of his blade calmly.
A slight creak spread through the air as his katana chipped at the edge.
He did not care. He channeled aether through the blade as he tapped into its flame element.
Like a raging inferno, flames burst out from the blade, swallowing Lilura’s axe whole.
She smiled lightly, pulling back quickly.
Before Silas could follow, he saw a small axe inches away from his face.
Clang.
A metallic shriek split the tension in the air as Silas’s katana sliced through the axe, flames devouring it before it could split fully.
Silas’s eyes flicked towards Lilura’s position.
She was gone already.
A heavy sound tore from above him, close enough that he could feel the vibration at the tip of his hair.
The floor beneath him cracked as his body twisted away.
A large battle axe broke through the tile where Silas had just stood.
Lilura’s small frame was still held in the air using the axe’s handle as support.
Silas closed the gap between them in that brief moment.
His katana carved orange flames through the air.
Lilura pulled her axe out of the floor with perfect timing.
The axe pushed Silas’s arm up.
Lilura drove in using the opening. The shaft of her axe smashed into Silas’s chest.
He tumbled backward, his free hand trailing his chest, now bare of clothes.
Lilura looked at him with a calm smile.
"You don’t stand a chance against me. Just give up," she said, resting the blade of her axe on the floor.
"We have not even started fighting yet. Why the hurry?" Silas asked, a smile playing on his lips.
The system appeared in his face at that moment.

Silas looked at the skill he had gained after killing the mysterious person Miller and Billie had been fighting a few days ago.
"That’s what you think," Lilura said as she darted forward.
Her axe cleaved through the air, aether wrapping tightly around it as it sang towards Silas’s neck.
Silas raised his blade in a vertical position, one hand on the hilt, the other resting on the tip.
Sharp gales of wind burst out from behind Silas, cutting through the wall behind as easily as butter.
Lilura was already moving, her body gliding towards Silas’s side.
Her axe, as heavy as it was, followed her every movement like it weighed nothing.
Aether surged through his body, covering him in a dark hue, similar to Gee’s.
The axe passed through Silas’s form like he was a mirage.
Time seemed to slow as Lilura’s eyes locked onto Silas’s calm ones.
The axe came from the other side, splitting through the wall cleanly.
"That’s," she said, narrowing her gaze to the tiniest it could while still allowing sight.
"Isn’t that Borin’s skill?" She asked.
Silas did not reply.
His katana had moved in that split second, driving towards her neck.
Lilura pivoted backward, the katana splitting the space she had once stood in.
A smile graced her lips as she looked at Silas.
"I don’t know how you got his skill, but I trained Borin from childhood until he became the second fang, just below Aldren. I know everything about his skill."
As she said those words, like a volcano finally erupting after being plugged for ages, aether exploded outward from her frame.
Everything around her was caught, breaking into pure dust.
The aether condensed immediately, everything swirling until it formed a single microscopic bullet that hovered just before her.
The bullet broke through the air, speeding towards Silas with a speed that defied anything he had ever experienced.
The bullet passed through him, piercing through the wall behind.
A small hole formed at that point, then began to spread outward.
The entire wall fell, the bricks dropping to the open compound of the estate.
Tick. Tick.
The slow, gentle, low sound of liquid hitting tiles broke the momentary silence.
Silas’s eyes were wide open as he stared down at the point where the bullet had passed through.
A tiny hole in his chest.
From it, blood flowed out in tiny droplets.
He looked back at Lilura, who was utterly calm, unfazed by the sight of the hole.
"I know you will revive. Stop staring at me," she said as she brought her axe up, resting it atop the back of her neck.
Only one thought passed through Silas’s mind as he fell to the floor.
’What was that?’
Compared to normal aether manipulation, that bullet seemed to carry all the power of the aether she had released condensed into a single point.
Lilura’s body dipped low, avoiding a punch that exploded the air above her.
