Chapter 1069: A New Hollow
Chapter 1069: A New Hollow
Chapter 1069
The elite forces comprised of mages all paused as they looked in the direction of the Emperor lying motionlessly in the arms of his son.
Knowing his condition, and yet he still came out to fight instead of remaining in bed like he should, the eyes of the mages, including the elite forces, grew moist.
They all bowed in the man’s direction, even as the enemy charged toward them.
They bowed toward the Emperor, remembering him not just as a man in the arms of his son, but as a true leader who refused to fold his hands while his subjects fought.
The moment the enemies drew near, all the mages rose up with intense vigor.
Amir turned around to look at the battlefield and then—
"TAKE YOUR PILLS NOW!"
Digging their hands into their pockets, they all pulled out a purple supplement each, with the initials ’SM’ written on it.
They ingested it and immediately felt a rush of energy flooding their veins.
Their mana cores were immediately replenished as mana surged through their bodies.
The warriors too took the same countermeasure, feeling their Dantians flowing with ki.
A second wind.
— FINISH THEM!
— THE EMPEROR’S SACRIFICE MUST NOT BE IN VAIN!
— RIP THESE BASTARDS TO SHREDS!
— AAAAAAAAH! LET’S GOOOO!
The Dawn forces received a second wind and instantly charged toward the enemy with such fierce force that the Otherworlders were stunned for a moment.
They had all been fighting for over two hours already, and even they were feeling exhausted—though not as exhausted as the Dawn forces had been.
Not until they utilized that strange reinforcement, and now they were fighting with such energy as if they hadn’t even fought today.
They attacked with the same ferociousness and stamina as the start of the battle.
Now, the tides were changing as the enemy was being pushed back with so much force that they began falling.
The elite forces didn’t utilize the reinforcement yet, only allowing the others to take them.
Soon, the Otherworlders’ numbers were being reduced blisteringly fast, such that it looked like in mere minutes, they would all be wiped out.
Still, Zodiac One didn’t make an attempt to move a muscle and just kept observing.
The battle had started an hour before noon, and now, the sun was fully out, but it was unable to be seen due to the hundreds of flying ships and wormholes the Otherworlders had created in the sky.
It blocked out the sun, making the whole battlefield look a bit darker, as if it were almost nighttime, but it wasn’t.
Only a few peeks of sunlight spread out, but the combatants didn’t care.
They were bulldozing with all their might, refusing to fall to the Otherworlders.
Five minutes.... Five minutes was all they had before the effect would wear off.
During this period, their Dantians and mana cores remained untouched, allowing them to use all the skills and techniques they had at their disposal without fearing the loss of energy.
For five minutes... the Dawn forces had unlimited mana and ki to wreak immense havoc, and they intended on doing so no matter what.
.....
Kael sniffled and then gently pushed Julius off his body, placing him on the ground before looking at his pale form for a few seconds.
"Kael...." Amir softly called out after giving the order he did just now.
"... We need to take his body to a safe place that the battle won’t be able to reach nor touch, so he can be given a befitting burial later on."
"..."
Kael looked at the body for a few seconds before lifting his gaze and scanning the battlefield.
The town was not untouched.
Everywhere he turned, the battle spilled on.
The houses and structures were all razed down by now, so where could he keep the Emperor where he would be safe?
That was when his eyes caught Elara swinging vines around, aiding in the battle while standing atop a thick branch.
’Vines... plants...’
Looking back at the Emperor, Kael picked him up gently.
Lightning crackled around his legs as he bolted forward, cutting across the battlefield.
Some Otherworlders spotted him, and because he wasn’t running as fast as he used to, they decided to attack.
Big mistake.
The moment they drew close, Kael spotted them and quickly vaulted into the air, spinning around as his leg sliced through the air to send a dozen lightning strikes flying forward with rapid velocity.
The men were hit as deep gashes tore across their frames, and they dropped instantly.
Without losing his stride, Kael landed and then bolted toward the elven princess.
Within a minute, he skidded before her, startling the elf for a moment.
"Kael...?"
"I need your help. Can you wrap his body gently in tons of vines to shield him from the battle?"
Elara glanced at the hundreds of vines twirling and flaring around like snakes. "If I do so, I won’t be able to fight."
"I will take care of the battlefield. Trust me, I intend on clearing them all out now."
Elara then nodded unhesitatingly and swung her vines forward.
They dragged the Emperor from Kael’s hands gently, wrapping around him in waves and layers.
Within mere seconds, the body was cocooned in the depths of the foliage.
The cocoon was raised behind Elara, who stood in front of it with a determined look.
"It’s in safe hands."
Kael smiled and then turned around to stare at the battlefield, where about a hundred thousand men on the Otherworlders’ side were still fighting.
"Fusion magic," he muttered, raising his joined index finger and thumb.
Blue arcs crackled into view as he looked into the distance with a fierce glare.
"Hollow Black."
Shadows howled into existence, wrapping around the crackling lightning.
The sphere grew until a ball of energy as large as a small sun, shrouded in layers of darkness, appeared hovering in front of Kael.
"Obliterate."
Screeeech! BOOOOM!
The attack flew forward with blinding speed while blood trickled down Kael’s nose.
He had hit his absolute limits.
